Project Description
Since 2020, SAT has been part of 3 IPD packages in 190+ renovation projects, servicing Edmonton Catholic and Edmonton Public Schools, Alberta Infrastructure, Calgary School Board and many other locations, performing full scope demolition and abatement work. These project packages were awarded based on SAT’s many years of demolition experience in occupied schools. Working in occupied spaces in the vulnerable sector, SAT has and continues to complete work with zero incidents.

Technology, Innovations, and Sustainability
An integrated project approach was used for this project, where a collaborative approach to the design and construction of complex construction projects was implemented, decreasing costs and schedules.

Project Challenges Overcome

• Over 20 schools involved across 4 IPD packages all with unique execution challenges.
• Unforeseen abatement required, quickly and safely adapted to meet aggressive schedules and minimize downtime. At times this required weekend and overnight shifts.
• Working in space occupied by vulnerable sector.
