Project Description
Alberta Infrastructure hired SAT as a general contractor to provide major building upgrades and improvements. The building required selective restoration, demolition, and abatement to be completed on different floors while making structural adjustments under an occupied building including the preservation of a 1500 sq. ft. mosaic. The goal of the selective restoration, demolition, and abatement was to facilitate upgrades including structural reinforcement, shoring, and full building M&E redesign.

Technology, Innovation, and Sustainability
Though it was not a requirement, a large amount of reclamation and recycling was implemented to divert over 15 bins of material for repurposing.

Project Challenges Overcome

  • The adjacent areas were occupied and had high traffic, so logistics had to be managed precisely.
  • Met a tight timeline despite the high degree of unknowns.
